Statewide gas prices have reached their lowest point since February of last year according to the latest gas price survey by AAA of Michigan. The auto club says the current statewide average is $2.24 a gallon, down 12 cents from last week and 12 cents from last month. This due to lower crude oil prices because of corona virus fears. “Pump prices will likely continue to face downward pressure through the end of the winter driving season,” said AAA spokesperson Adrienne Woodland. The most expensive gas prices in the state can be found in Marquette, and the least expensive fuel is in the Tri-Cities. Locally, pumps in Sanilac and Lapeer Counties are asking about $2.20 a gallon on average, while St. Clair County pumps are lower, about $2.17 on average.
