More closures announced for county and municipal governments

The number of governmental agencies effaced by COVID-19 continues to grow. The St. Clair County Library System has closed all branch locations to the public. Reservations for the use of St. Clair County Parks and Recreation facilities and the County Building’s auditorium through the end of the month will not be accepted. The State of the County address will be postponed until Friday June 12th.

The Michigan State University Extension office at the St. Clair County Administration Building has closed to the public. Documents may be sent via mail service or via e-mail at msue@stclaircounty.org.

Fort Gratiot Township has closed their lobby to the public. Burning Permits can be request over the phone. The Board of Trustee meeting scheduled for March 18th is canceled.

The City of Marysville says city hall will continue to be staffed and other essential services provide, however offices will be closed to the public.

All Social Security offices will be closed to the public for in-person service, including their Fort Gratiot Township Office.

Other area cities and townships have also reduced or eliminated many in person services and have canceled programs and events. The pubic is encouraged to conduct all business with their local municipality by phone or internet.
