St. Clair County sees single digit virus increases, Sanilac remains unchanged

There were 8 new cases of the coronavirus in St. Clair County as of Wednesday afternoon. That brings the county-wide total of COVID-19 cases to 362. No new deaths or hospitalizations were reported in St. Clair County Wednesday. 290 of those individuals are said to be recovered. The number of confirmed cases and fatalities in Sanilac County did not change Wednesday. There are 34 positive individuals and 4 deaths of Sanilac County residents. One new cases and one new death death was reported in Lapeer County Wednesday. The total in Lapeer County has now reached 167 cases and 25 deaths.

Michigan this week began providing data about the coronavirus in long term care facilities in each county. Twelve residents at Medilodge of Port Huron in Fort Gratiot Township have tested positive for COVID-19. Medilodge of St. Clair in East China Township is reporting 16 cases of COVID-19. In a press release, Medilodge says all 16 residents at the East China facility have recovered. No cases of the coronavirus have been reported at Sanilac County facilities. There are 24 confirmed COVID-19 cases at the Villages of Lapeer Nursing and Rehab Center as well as 3 cases at the Lapeer County Medical Care Facility. At least two residents at the Villages of Lapeer are reported to have died from teh virus.
