Today is the day for hair cutting and other personal care services to resume all across Michigan. After being closed for about three months due to the coronavirus pandemic, hair and nail salons, barbershops, and massage services in mid and lower Michigan will be reopening today. Shannan Karas owns Karas and Company in Downtown Port Huron. She tells WPHM if you’re hoping to see a stylist, you’ll need to make an appointment, and be prepared to be patient. Karas says her regular clients who had appointments missed during the stay at home orders will be first in line. Among the changes at the businesses will be chairs spaced out, workers wearing personal protection equipment like face shields and masks and clients having to wait in their car and going into the business only when summoned. Personal care services reopened in northern lower Michigan and the Upper Peninsula opened last week.
