The City of Marysville will be buying a pair of vacant parcels near Morton Park. At Monday night’s meeting of Marysville City council, members decided to purchase the two properties for $90,000. Mayor Wayne Pyden tells WPHM the two vacant lots are located along Busha Highway between the Linwood Bar and a local insurance agency. “The number one goal was to make that park whole,” said Pyden. Mayor Pyden also says crews are still on track to finish building a new soccer field and track faculty in Morton Park this fall. The athletic complex is to be used by St. Clair County Community college, with Pyden saying work has also begun on a fixing up a softball field in Marysville park to be used by the SC4 women’s softball team.
