The St. Clair County Sheriff’s office say a three and a half hour standoff in Kimball Township yesterday lead to a suspect’s arrest. Deputies say they were called to a home in the 5000 block of Burma Road shortly after 3:30 Tuesday afternoon on reports of a domestic argument and shots fired. Authorities say the 39 year old wife and two teenage children were able to get out of the home. The husband, a 48 year old man, barricaded himself inside the home. Negotiators from the Sheriff”s office Special Response Team began negotiating with him and he eventually complied with officer’s requests by 7 o’clock last night. He was taken to an area hospital for a mental health examination and detectives from the sheriff’s office removed firearms from the home pending the results of the mental evaluation.
