A familiar face will return to Port Huron City Council. Domingo “Rico” Ruiz has been named to fill a vacancy on the council. Of the nine candidates who applied to fill the vacancy left by Lisa Beedon, Ruiz received the highest amount of votes. Beedon resigned from the council at the end of last year following her election to the St. Clair County Board of Commissioners. Ruiz served most recently on City Council in 2018 and chose not to run for re-election. His partial term will expire in 2022.
