The City of Marysville has awarded bids for a multi million dollar project involving the city’s water and sewer system. Marysville Mayor Wayne Pyden tells WPHM that the city entered into an agreement with the firm Hubble, Roth, and Clark for storm water collection and treatment improvements. At this week’s city council meeting, council members approved up to $8 million in funding including a $3.5 million dollar for lead service line removal. Pyden says there are approximately 60 homes in Marysville that have been identified as having lead service lines.

City Council Members in Marysville will propose changes to the document that governs the city’s operations during a special session meeting in March. Mayor Pyden tells WPHM’s Paul Miller that council has been looking over the city charter and is set to discuss it on the 15th of next month. “We will take a look at what individual members came up with… it will be refreshing to see council members bring forth new ideas.” Pyden says it’s been decades since the Marysville’s Charter has been reviewed.
