Body found in burnt Port Huron house, murder suspected

Authorities are investigating the death of a 28 year old Port Huron woman who’s body was found in a burnt out house this past weekend.  The fire was reported around 8:15am Saturday at a home in the 1800 block of Division Street. Port Huron Police and Fire Crews responded to the home and discovered the woman’s body inside.  Later Saturday night, police searched a house in the 2400 block of Hopps Road in Port Huron Township. A 27 year old man who was dating the deceased woman was interviewed and and arrested on the charge of murder. The St. Clair County Medical Examiner is in the process of performing an autopsy on the victim to determine a cause of death. The name of the victim will be released pending results of the autopsy. The name of the suspect is currently being withheld until arraignment.
