The price of a gallon of gas in Michigan is a few pennies less than it was a week ago. AAA of Michigan is reporting a new statewide average daily gas price of $3.16 a gallon for regular unleaded. That’s a decrease of 6 cents from this time last month but is still a $1.10 more than this time last year.

“Despite decreased demand after Labor Day, the impact of the hurricanes and the latest crude price increases could help pump prices remain above $3 a gallon in the weeks ahead,” said Adrienne Woodland, spokesperson, AAA-The Auto Club Group.

Locally Port Huron area drivers can expect to pay right around the statewide average of $3.16 a gallon.
