Port Huron City Council meets tonight for the final time in 2021. Among the items on the agenda for council include the purchase of a nearly $115,000 chiller and $98,000 for new splash pad equipment, both for the McMorran Place Plaza. Council will also accept a $20,000 donation from the Hannah R Winkler Memorial Fund for the purchase of a new pavilion at Gratiot Park.

There will also be first readings tonight of two ordinances to rezone lots at 3400 and 3423 Military Street from residential to Central Business District. That zoning change would allow All Star Services to put an addition on their existing building. A second reading and enactment of an ordinance is also expected tonight that revises the city’s curfew ordinance to reflect state law, moving the age of curfew up from 17 to 18 years of age.

Council will be asked to approve the purchase of three new gateway signs for the City of Port Huron for $48,000 dollars which will be placed at various spots within the city. Council is also poised to accept a bid of $59,000 dollars for a new professional mobile gaming trailer to be used for a partnership between the Parks and Recreation department at Port Huron Schools. Port Huron City Council meets at 7pm tonight at the Municipal Office Center.
