Holiday gas prices highest in seven years

The price of a gallon of gasoline in Michigan this holiday season is the highest since 2013. According to the latest gas price brief from AAA of Michigan, the price for a gallon of regular unleaded is $3.14 per gallon. That is 23 cents less than this time last month but still $1 more than this time last year. More than 3 million Michigan residents are planning to drive to their destination, an increase of 34% over last year. Gas stations in Marquette are among the highest in the state while gas is the cheapest in the Grand Rapids area. According to AAA, pumps in the greater Port Huron area are asking $3.24 a gallon.
