Port Huron City Council will have the first reading of a rezoning ordinance tonight that could allow for a electrical substation in the 2400 block of 10th Avenue. The Michigan Department of Transportation is seeking rezone the city block between Church and Elmwood from residential to general business district. DTE Energy would buy the parcel from MDOT for a new electrical substation. Council is also poised to spend up to $65,000 of American Rescue Plan funds with the Council on Aging Serving St. Clair County for the purchase of a new meal delivery vehicle. Council meets at 7pm at the Municipal Office Center. Monday’s meeting is the only one scheduled for July, the next regular council meeting will be August 8th.
