The Port Huron Area School District has announced the winning mascot for Port Huron High School and two area elementary schools. Starting this Fall, the Big Reds of Port Huron High will now be known as the Redhawks. Roosevelt Elementary Students will be know as the Little Redhawks and Michigamme Elementary School’s new mascot will be the Cardinals. The decision to retire the Native American themed mascots was made by the board of education this past November. The decision follows several rounds of voting by students and the public.
