Pump prices fall after reaching new 2023 high

The cost of gasoline has decreased slightly compared to last week. AAA of Michigan says pump prices have fallen about a dime from last week after reaching a new record high for 2023. With a new statewide average of $3.62 a gallon, that’s still up 21 cents from this same time last month.
Lower demand and stock growth this week are likely responsible for the slight dip in prices.
The Metro Detroit area has the least expensive gas in the state while Traverse City is dealing with the state’s highest prices. Locally Port Huron Area pumps are asking about $3.59 for a gallon of regular gas.
