The Supreme Court announced Monday that it will weigh in on whether public officials, such as Port Huron’s City Manager, can block critics on social media. ABC News reports the high court will look at whether the First Amendment prevents public officials from blocking critics on platforms like Twitter and Facebook. It s an issue that came up two years ago after former president Donald Trump blocked people from his personal twitter account. The court decided there was nothing left to that case because Trump had already left office and been banned from twitter. Now the court will hear two cases involving Port Huron City Manager James Freed and California school board members. The Supreme Court will hear arguments in its next term that starts in October.
