The holidays are a time to reconnect with friends and family, and several area organizations say it’s also a great time to reconnect with your community. As college students and young professionals return home to the Blue Water Area this week for the Thanksgiving holiday, an event will be held tomorrow night to help tell the story of the region’s prosperity. The Economic Development Alliance of St. Clair County, along with the St. Clair County Community Foundation and the Blue Water Young Professionals will host a “Holiday Homecoming” tomorrow evening. EDA director Dan Casey tells WPHM the event is a great way for returning college students and those who may have left the area for work to learn what their hometown community has to offer. Demiree Potter, downtown business owner and member of the young professionals, says food, drink, and prizes will be offered during the event. Among the prizes include tickets to a Drew Jacobs Show at McMorran this weekend, gift cards to area businesses, and a $1,000 cash prize. Holiday Homecoming runs from 6 to 8pm Wednesday at the Sperry’s Second Floor Dinner House and is free to attend.
