Many gathered at the Port Huron McMorran Pavilion yesterday for the annual backpack giveaway. The event was developed by the Community Foundation's Women's Initiative, and for 13 years they have been providing thousands of backpacks full of school supplies to low income families in St. Clair County. There are still more giveaways this week with East China holding a giveaway today at the Administration Building from 4-6 pm, and on Friday in the Capac/ Yale area at the Capac Elementary School from 10-to-noon.
