The Friends of the St. Clair River is offering a free presentation and showcase on endangered mussels, January 27th. Continuing their monthly speaker series, Friends of the St. Clair River, the Blue Water Area's leading environmental non-profit organization, will be offering a free presentation and Showcase titled "St. Clair County Mussels: Most Endangered Animals". The class will be led by Dave Dortman, a local freshwater mussel enthusiast and naturalist. He'll discuss mussel biology, life history, identification and their importance in our environment. Dozens of mussel species will be brought in for handling and identification during the 45-minute presentation, which will be held at the St. Clair County Administration Building Auditorium, located in downtown Port Huron.
