As winter sets in, the kids can be a bit trying sometimes. To help keep them active this winter and to get them out of the house, the Port Huron Recreation Department is offering many programs. The Recreation Department is having a "Skate with the Pros" program. Kids as young as three years-old will be introduced to hockey and figure skating, by the Port Huron Prowlers, in a relaxed atmosphere. The very popular "Daddy Daughter Valentine Dance" is coming up on February 11th. The dance will be held in a new location this year, at the Fogcutter building. A three week softball clinic will also be offered in February as well, for grades 6-12. As well as having classes for the kids, Toni George with the Rec Department says they also have a new program for adults called Mindless Crafts for Adults. This gives adults the ability to do the activities and crafts that they once did as kids and enjoy some free time. Mom's can take part in the woman's yoga program, and a fencing class is also being offered for all ages. George says the class is a great opportunity for a parent to do something with their child, plus it's very athletic.
