Did you resolve to lose weight, exercise more or to quit smoking for the new year? It's great to make new year's resolutions, says Deb Johnson Executive Director of St. Clair County Community Mental Health, but don't be so hard on yourself if you fail. She says just choose simple goals that are attainable to help your mind and body, such as getting enough sleep and exercising. If you are having trouble keeping your resolution Johnson says that having a buddy can help you keep it. Though if you fail at your resolution she says don't get discouraged, just keep at it. And to celebrate the little successes that you have. Johnson says her goal this year was to be more organized. She notes that if you resolved to quit smoking this year, Michigan has a toll free number to help you. Just call 1800-QUIT-NOW.
