The 2015 fundraising campaign for the United Way of St. Clair County is close to an end, and they are also close to reaching their goal of $1.4 million. To help reach that goal, the United Way still has some fundraising left to do. Dr. Michael Tawney, with the local United Way, spoke on the Paul Miller Show Monday. Dr Michael Tawney, who manages the the medical help for the United Way, says medical supplies and equipment are available, as well as the community dental clinic, which he says has helped over 16,000 patients. He notes that poor dental health leads to numerous types of other medical conditions. The United Way will also be holding a St. Patrick's Day celebration at Freighters again this year. Breakfast will cost $10 dollars and music will be provided by Irish bands. And Speaking of Freighters, the United Way is still selling Freighter Raffle tickets until April. For $10 you could win a ride on a freighter to Duluth, Michigan and back this summer. To order tickets, or to make a donation, visit: uwstclair.org, or call: 810-985-8169 Ext. 110.
