Uber Glitch Ruins Man’s Marriage, So He’s Suing the App for $45M

The marvels of technology can make the world a small place. It really brings us together. But remember it can just as easily split us apart; especially if you use it to cheat on your wife!

                             Uber’s the new Ashley Madison.

A French businessman was caught cheating on his wife thanks to a little bug in his ride-sharing app. So naturally, he’s suing Uber for $45 million because he claims that glitch blew the cover on his extramarital adventures and led to the couple’s divorce. The malfunction caused the app to send notifications to his wife’s device, allowing her to keep tabs on his drop-offs and pick-ups.

That’s the address for Becky With the Good Hair!

While he did use her device one time to book a car, the unnamed man swears he logged out. Thanks to the glitch, she was able to track his every move in real time. The French Riviera resident is now seeking damages, claiming the privacy flaw cost him his marriage. To be fair, the original article in French newspaper, Le Figaro, never states if any infidelity actually occurred

Uber doesn’t have a lot to say other than quote: “Uber doesn’t publicly comment on individual cases and especially those which concern things such as a divorce procedure.”

Protest signs have been on point recently, huh?

Postscript –  Also, this is one time Android users can claim some superiority over their iPhone arch-rivals: This glitch seems to only be present in iOS. I added this tidbit because I’m the only person at WBTI who owns an Android! 😛 – Conrad
