Mr. Playboy, Hugh Hefner, was found passed away in his mansion at the age of 91. He passed of natural causes. Here are some facts you probably didn’t know about the legend.
1) He Loves Scrapbooking
Hugh Hefner has 18,000 scrapbooks that detail several decades of his life. He has a photo of every person to EVER visit the mansion. Hef hold the Guinness World Record certificate for largest personal collection of scrapbooks! He also holds a Guinness World Record for the longest career as an editor-in-chief for the same magazine (Playboy.)
2) He Owns the Plot Next To Marilyn Monroe
We all know he had a very special relationship with Marilyn Monroe. She was his first big break. A naked Marilyn caught readers by surprise and the landmark was made. He bought the plot next to Ms. Monroe for $75,000. He is intended to be buried there.
3) Religious Upbringing
He was born in Chicago, Illinois to two teachers who were both very conservative. His parents raised him with a strong methodist hand. His mom said that she was always proud of him, but would have preferred he’d have been a missionary.
4) He is Related to George Bush
He is the ninth cousin twice removed from former US President, George W. Bush. He is also the 9th cousin once removed from Senator John Kerry.

Hugh Hefner doesn’t just love bunnies! He loves all the animals, which is why the Playboy mansion is one of very few homes with a zoo license. Their zoo includes a variety of exotic birds and monkeys.

In 1978, Hugh began a public campaign to get the letters restored on the deteriorating sign. He got nine donors to donate about $30,000 each to sponsor a letter. Hef got the “Y” with his donation.

Due to his past, he has never cheated on any of his wives. He has slept with an estimated 2,000 women. Sources close to him says he “makes up for it,” when he is single. Don’t feel like you’re unsuccessful if mom still has to help every now and again. When Hugh wanted to print the first edition of Playboy he had to borrow around $8,000. $1,000 came from his religious mother. Hugh said that she didn’t believe in the business but did have faith in him.

Hugh was never wildly into academics, however he has an IQ of 152. The average IQ ranges between 90 and 110. He took this test as a young boy because teachers complained that he dawdled during class. His mom worried something might be wrong and took him to a psychologist to test. Obviously, nothing was wrong. Just a kid with big dreams.
13) He Quit Esquire
Before Playboy came to be, Hugh worked as a copywriter for Esquire Magazine. He quit after they turned him down for a $5 raise.
