In the show Supernatural, when you don’t see Dean Winchester (Ackles) slaying demons or rescuing his brother, you can probably find him in the closest bar getting a brew and a burger.
Much like his character Dean, Jensen Ackles is a lover of beer and family. He and his wife (Danneel Ackles, former star on One Tree Hill.) decided, ” maybe it’s time we get back to the basics of life. Family and Beer.” They got together with Daneel’s parents, brother, and Nate Seale to do one of the biggest things a family can do together, start a company.
They established Family Business Beer Company and just launched last Wednesday, January 10th. It’s described as a destination brewery and tasting room. It’s a microbrewery that will produce everything from IPA’s to barrel aged stouts, according to their website.
What’s on tap at FBBC? 
HAMILTON PALE
American Pale Ale – 5.0%
Peach and citrus smell. Hoppy, the later addition of hops creates a lot of juice flavoring while hindering some of the bitterness.
THE FOX
Rye Lager – 4.9%
A dry hoppy beer made with the Pilsner Malt foundation. This brew was named for the fury friend of the property who shows up at the strangest times to say, “hello.”
COSMIC COWBOY
American IPA – 7.0%
Fruity grapefruit and pine notes. It’s a refreshing American IPA.
GHOST
White IPA – 4.9%
Dirty but pale. It has both citrus and berry notes. You can taste the Belgian yeast but it doesn’t distract from those fruity American hops. Ghost is a hybrid of two very different styles that complete one another.
KING BISCUIT
ESB – 5.0%
There are subtle notes of floral hops, balanced by caramel malt. It has a clean finish and is ideal for day drinking!
HAULIN’ OATS
Brown Ale – 5.2%
Malty with a deep coloring. It’s a toasty-beer with oat and honey malt presence. Aroma is similar to an oatmeal cookie… if beer was in it.
THE GRACKLE
Imperial Stout – 8.9%
Notes of coffee, baker’s chocolate and heavily roasted malts. It’s a warm and robust, full bodied stout. Named after a common bird in the area.
WINTER WARMER
Strong Dark Ale – 7.5%
As you sip, you’ll discover layers of malt, toffee, maple, plum and cereal. This warm beer is more than meets the eye.
Their beer isn’t available across the country yet, but you can stop by and see Family Business Beer Company Wednesday – Friday 3p – 10 p, Saturday 11a – 10p and Sundays 11a – 9p. (Monday/Tuesday closed for brewing!) Tours are coming soon. Find FBBC in Dripping Springs, TX.
