Cast Members of “This Is Us” Use Their SAG ‘plus one’ to Bring the Young Actors Who Weren’t Invited

If the cast members of “This Is Us”  aren’t melting your hearts every Tuesday night on NBC, maybe this will break your heart of stone. Many cast members from the show used their ‘plus one’ at the SAG Awards to bring the younger versions of the Pearson kids to the night of glamor.

While the adult versions of each character appear in nearly every episode, the child actors have to switch up depending on what time period they show back to. In order to qualify for an invitation to the SAG Awards as a show member, you have to appear in a certain number of episodes, and unfortunately a couple of the child actors didn’t reach that total.

When Chrissy Metz, Mandy Moore, Susan Kelechi, and Justin Hartley found out, they decided the everyone deserved to be honored for their hard work on the show. Loop hole! Bring them as their dates for the evening.

No one even knew that the cast members had to do this to get their whole “family” their until Mackenzie Hancsicsak (portrays young Kate,) tweeted this:

How appropriate that the Kates go together. Justin Hartley brought the teenage version of his character, Logan Shroyer. While Susan Kelechi Watson ( Beth Pearson) brought the youngest Kevin, Parker Bates.

And last but certainly not least, Mandy Moore brought none other than Jermel Nakia (portrays young William.)

The night was able to be enjoyed by the ENTIRE Pearson crew! Their fellow actors were so grateful and excited to be a part of such a memorable night. “thank you to my fellow actors who voted. I’m beyond humbled by the experience. I give thanks and remember to give glory where it’s due,” said Shroyer in a post.  “This is Us” snagged not one, but two SAG Awards this year. Sterling K. Brown became the first black actor to win “Outstanding Performance by an Male Actor in a Drama Series.” Everyone was able to storm the stage when the show won “Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series.”

One last thing.

The three leading ladies of “This is Us” all ACCIDENTALLY wore the same shade of blue and loved that it happened.
