Did Ariana Grande Confirm Her Engagement to Pete Davidson with this Tweet?

First comes love, then comes tattoos, then comes a diamond in a karat carriage? 

 

News broke Monday, June 11th, that Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson are engaged. While neither party has personally confirmed the evidence that supports this rumor, signs are pointing to a Grande-Davidson wedding. Let’s break it down.

 

First, they went public with their relationship May 30th with an Instagram post. This happened just a couple weeks after Ariana Grande announced her split from on-again off-again boyfriend of several years, Mac Miller. “I am not a babysitter and or a mother and no woman should feel that they need to be,” said Grande in a tweet about Mac Miller. Around the same time, Davidson and his girlfriend broke up. Nearly immediately rumors of these two dating began to catch wind. Then they finally admitted they were together by saying, “The chamber of secrets has been opened,” while sporting Harry Potter robes.

Soon after that, they were very public about their relationship, receiving lots of positive response from fans. Grande has turned up at Davidson’s stand-up gigs and they attend parties together flaunting a cute-amount of PDA. Davidson even revealed he got two “Ariana inspired” tattoos. Behind his ear he has the Dangerous Woman bunny mask and her initials on this thumb. Here is where things start picking up. A couple days later, Davidson made a joke about long time friend, Brian Tyree Henry saying, “I’m having his kids,” and posting a photo of the bromance. Grande added a comment of her own saying, “I look so good here,” insinuating that it should be her featured with that caption.

Fast froward again, to Wango Tango on June 2nd. She has a MASSIVE rock on her finger. She doesn’t mention it but of course everyone noticed. While they both seem to either be keeping it under wraps, a source let out, “They aren’t rushing to get married.” But at that point, still nothing confirmed from the mouths of the love birds.  Here is a still shot from one of her interviews.

 

 

They attended both Robert Pattison’s L.A. house party and Kayne West/Kid Cudi’s listening party. Sources say they openly talked about it to some close friends. A party goer told E!News, “They were telling people that they were engaged.”  But still, no interviews to officially confirm the news.

 

Then she started tweeting. If you remember her interview with Jimmy Fallon she talked about how she accidentally gives away a lot in her tweets. She gets excited or bored and it’s like the flood gates have opened on her Twitter.

First she tweeted this, which has since been deleted:

“I love u ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????? sm ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? ok bye.”

Then to another tweet in response to fan support she said, ” I know. I love u so f*ckin much. hi. i’m so happy. and excited.” Happy and excited about what!

 

 

Then something that seemed to seal the deal for us on confirming this engagement was a tweet from Grande to one of her gal pals, Camila Cabello. The two have been friends for a while now. They even did an episode of “Carpool Karaoke” together. The tweet simply read, ” we need to talk

 

Perhaps she wanted to break the news to her dear friend before going officially public with it. Could Camila Cabello be her maid of honor?

Sources say they do plan on taking on their time with the engagement. Their whirlwind romance could probably use that adjustment period but after their share of heartbreak and ache, if they both make each other happy, maybe their relationship IS their rest.

 


Davidson has publicly spoken about the death of his firefighter dad in 9/11, his borderline personality disorder, and substance abuse (and how he has turned it around.) Davidson has since become the youngest-ever SNL cast member and boyfriend to a four-time Grammy nominated singer, (Grande.)

On the flip side, Grande still shares heartache with her fans after the Manchester concert bombing where she lost 23 of her fans to violence. We will likely hear a song about that on her upcoming album, Sweetner. We are also expecting some sort of ballad about her split with Mac Miller. Their relationship was a rollercoaster. She was constantly having to lift him up after falling off the wagon over and over again. When she decided she couldn’t catch him any longer, she broke things off.

Together, the couple is laughing the pain away. While we might not hear the wedding bells soon, they surely seem to be in the horizon.
