The famed-singing couple, Halsey and G-Eazy are “taking some time apart.”
Rumors of their break-up began earlier this week. Fans noticed Haley’s Instagram page was missing something that was previously a large component of her posts… G-Eazy. She had deleted their photos together.
After the photos were deleted she made a rather cryptic post that made sense later. It’s a picture of herself in a bikini and her dog by a pool. She captioned the picture on Instagram, “Kiss my dog on the forehead and then kiss ur a** goodbye.”
While many fans didn’t catch the caption or try to read into it, there are a couple comments that began questioning if that was alluding to her relationship with G-Eazy.
It wasn’t until yesterday when she posted a statement to her Instagram story that the rumors were confirmed. It was the first public statement made about their relationship since the deleted pics and cryptic caption. After fans began picking up what was happening she said, “I normally keep this kind of thing private but provided our public nature I feel the need to inform my fans.”
“G-Eazy and I are taking some time apart,” the photo read. She plans on focusing on her career and art with her newly acquired spare-time. A woman on a mission.
This is all Halsey has said about the break-up. G-Eazy has yet to acknowledge this post or make a statement of his own. However, he was seen dressed to the nines for the Vogue Foundation Dinner in congruence with Fashion Week in Paris-Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2018-2019. It was held at Musee Galliera on Tuesday evening in Paris.
The couple announced their courtship at the tail-end of last summer. Together, they released the song, “Him & I” as a tribute to each other. As a couple, they were never scared to do a little PDA whether is was for a photo, on stage while performing their duet or on the red carpet. Their last red carpet appearance together was just a couple weeks ago in June for the 2018 MTV TV & Movie Awards.
People began questioning the stability of their relationship after G-Eazy was arrested for drug possession, assault and resisting arrest in Sweden back in May. They never made a statement together after the arrest but he did come out and say that he was, “Embarrassed & apologetic beyond words about the incident,” in an Instagram post.
As their song says, “He’s out his head, I’m out my mind. We got that love; the crazy kind.” Maybe they both just needed a break to test out their independence again.
Since their break-up, Halsey has been sited with rapper, Machine Gun Kelley.
