“America’s Got Talent” Contestant Falls During Trapeze Act

On Tuesday’s episode of “America’s Got Talent” exactly what you don’t want to happen during a trapeze act, did.

The pair performing for this part of the show are husband and wife, Mary and Tyce, known as “Duo Transcend.” During the finale of the of their act, Mary slipped right through her husband’s hands.

Everyone was on edge before the fall. Not only does performing at heights make the audience and judges nervous, but they had several other degrees of difficulty in play. They added elements to the act such as fire and at the end, blindfolding. The most nerve racking part of this all? Tyce has a progressive eye disease that has already left him legally blind in one eye.

The show starts with his wife being suspended by her head as she held an outstretched pose. As the show went on, levels of difficulty increased. Fire, harder poses, quicker movements, and finally, the blindfold. Watch their act in the clip below.

During the blindfold trick, things went wrong. The nauseous, on the edge of your seat feeling, was a reality for these audience member’s whose worst fears came true. The couple had no safety net. It looked as if Tyce would catch her, he made a grab for her legs, but she slipped right through his fingers.

Silence. No one knew if Mary would be okay. Luckily there was a small mat on the ground to cushion her fall. Mary popped back up completely unhurt. Even with the mat, she was very lucky to have not broken any bones.

Not only did she make it out of the trick uninjured. She asked the judges if they could try the trick again!

Judge Jeong said, “This is not, ‘America’s Got Perfection’ this is ‘America’s Got Talent’ Nobody can do this.”

The couple is on the show to gain the Vegas Residency portion of the prize package. Mary said they don’t want to have to be on the road away from their son anymore.

They still have a chance to win despite the fall.
