Miley Cyrus & Gerard Butler Lose Their House to the Wildfires

 

Miley Cyrus, Gerard Butler, and Neil Young added to list of celebrities who lost their homes to the wildfires.

 

 

As the deadly fires continue to rip through California, first responders and firefighters work to contain the beasts. They are risking their lives to save the homes and businesses of some 57,000 structures and thousands of acres of land. Their have been some losses. Among the 179 structures lost thus far to the Woolsey and Hill fires, the homes of Miley Cyrus, Neil Young, Robin Thicke and Gerard Butler have been added to the list.

Butler posted a photo of what remains of his home on Twitter. He stated, “Returned to my house in Malibu after evacuating. Heartbreaking time across California. Inspired as ever by the courage, spirit and sacrifice of firefighters.” He thanked the Los Angeles Fire Department for their efforts and shared a link to encourage others to support them in any way they can.

 

Thicke posted his statement to Instagram letting his fans know that his family has found safety and reminding everyone to count their blessings.

Cyrus tweeted about the devastation to her town. While her home is burned to the ground, she still said, “I am one of the lucky ones.”

“My animals and LOVE OF MY LIFE made it out safely & that’s all that matters right now.”

 

 

The Woolsey Fire is one of the three major fires still burning through the state. It has spread to 85,500 acres in span and is only 15% contained as of Sunday evening. The Hill fire, which is much smaller now spanning a still astonishing 4,500 acres is now 75% contained.

The third fire is one of the deadliest in state history and currently the most dangerous is the Camp fire in Northern California. It burned the town of Paradise to the ground leaving nothing but ruins. It destroyed thousands of homes and businesses while claiming the lives of several people. Around 200 people are still unaccounted for.

At least 31 known lives have been claimed from these series of fires. 29 from Camp fire and two from the Woolsey fire.
