Authorities in Lapeer County are investigating a fatal single vehicle crash from over the weekend. Sheriff’s deputies say a 23 year old North Branch man overturned a pickup truck on Silverwood Road in Lapeer County’s Rich Township shortly after Midnight Sunday. The pickup truck is believed to have left the roadway while navigating a turn. The driver struck a road sign and went airborne, landing on the vehicle’s side. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities believe a lack of seat belt usage contributed to the man’s death and a toxicology report is pending.
