Group hopes to provide better internet service in the Thumb

A non-0profit organization charged with improving internet connectivity across the nation is seeking the input of local Blue Water Area residents. Connected Nation Michigan is in the process of conducting surveys locally to access access to broadband internet and where more investments in infrastructure are needed. Dan Manning, Community Technology Advisor of Connected Nation Michigan, tells WPHM surveys are currently under way in St. Clair, Sanilac, and Lapeer Counties. The goal, says Manning, is to develop the best ways internet providers can serve their community. “What we’ve done in each cases is bring together a committee of community stakeholders that really have a vested interest in broadband across the various sectors in each of those counties.” There are surveys for each county that are available at the following links that take just 10 minutes to complete:
