Gas prices fall under $2 mark locally

Gas prices in Michigan fell a few pennies over the past week according to AAA of Michigan. The current statewide average is $2.01 a gallon, down 3 cents compared to a week ago. That’s 7 cents less than this time last month and 49 cents less than this time last year. Marquette and Metro Detroit are among the most expensive places for a tank of gas in the state this week. The least expensive fuel is in the Lansing and Flint area. Port Huron area pumps asking approximately $1.96 a gallon.
