Members of the Port Huron City Council will meet for their first regular session meeting of the new year, albeit one member short. Members tonight will formally accept the resignation of Lisa Beedon, who was elected to a position on the St. Clair County Board of Commissioners in November. Beedon’s resignation from city council was effective December 31st, with council needing to name a replacement. On Monday city council will also hold a first reading of an ordinance to rezone a parcel of land formerly home to the county’s day treatment-night watch program. A group of properties in the 27-hundred block of 10th avenue will be rezoned from single family residential to multi-family residential.  Port Huron City Council will meet at 7pm tonight at the city’s municipal office center.
