Winter storm could bring up to a half foot of snowfall

Several more inches of snow is on the way to the the southern half of the lower peninsula, including the Thumb and Metro Detroit area. The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for the entire listening area until noon Tuesday. Snow is expected to begin later today and continue through the overnight hours. An additional five to eight inches of new snow could fall during the time period with the highest totals expected along Lake Huron.
