Three more cases of the COVID-19 variant reported locally

Three new cases of the more cotangent, British strain of the COIVD-19 virus have been discovered in St. Clair County Residents. Public health officials yesterday announced the cases following further testing of a COVID-19 specimens. A man in his 30s and a woman in her 40s who was a close contact of his both have completed their isolation period. A third woman in her 60s died from COVID-19 which was later identified as the British variant. The first case of the B-1-1-7 variant in St. Clair County last month. Officials say the new strain is more transmissible but not necessarily more deadly than the original virus.
