Mask resolution, parking ordinance to be considered by council

Port Huron City Council meets tonight in a regular session meeting tonight. Council members will be asked to accept a $60,000 bid for new fire equipment for the Fire Department and $80,000 for the purchase of new firearms for the Police Department. Proposed 2021-22 fiscal year budgets for the city and Downtown Development Authority will be received tonight as well. A resolution to encourage mask wearing in public spaces will be introduced tonight. There will also be a first reading of an ordinance to amend the city’s parked cars ordinance which would allow, among other things, for the impounding of vehicles parked in a no parking, tow-away zone.
