The price of a gallon of gasoline has increased 18 cents over the past week in Michigan. AAA of Michigan is reporting a new record high price of 2022 of $3.55 a gallon, which is also 33 cents more than this time last month and 79 cents more than this time last year. An increase in gas demand as well as a reduction in global supply due to economic sanctions against Russia are to blame for the increase at the pump. Locally, Port Huron area pumps are around $3.57 a gallon.
