Two teenagers are recovering after an icy swim in the St. Clair River Wednesday. Port Huron Fire and Rescue crews were called to an area along the Blue Water River Walk near the rail ferry apron around 1pm on reports of the teens struggling in the water. Battalion Chief Dale Minard tells WPHM the two purposefully went into the water to swim, and were rescued by the department’s rapid divers. High temperatures Wednesday approached 60 degrees, however Minard says the temperature of the water was still just above freezing. The two were taken to an area hospital and are expected to make a full recovery.
