Plans to repurpose the Marysville Museum building into a four-unit micro hotel are moving forward. In the upcoming fiscal year’s budget, the City of Marysville plans to provide up to $250,0000 towards renovations of the building that once served as city  hall.

“We didn’t want to just  get rid of (the building) if someone had a purpose for it,” said Mayor Kathy Hayman. “It’s been sitting empty for many, many years… the city couldn’t justify putting that much money into it for it to sit vacant.”

Marysville has entered into an agreement with contractor Korey Eagen to remodel the building, with the city retaining ownership and taking a share of the profits. Marysville City Council will vote on the upcoming fiscal year’s budget on Monday the 22nd.
