A major drug trafficking attempt was halted by authorities at the Canadian border. 217 pounds of cocaine were found hidden among a shipment of goods bound for Canada in a tractor-trailer on Thursday. The drugs were seized by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers. The truck and it’s trailer are being detained by Homeland Security agents in Port Huron until further investigation is completed. The driver is facing federal prosecution. Last year, boarder protection agents prevented 138 incidents of cocaine trafficking along the U.S. Northern border.
