While it’s still too soon to tell what drivers will be paying at the pump this Independence Day, Michigan motorists are currently seeing an average decline of about six cents per gallon since Monday of last week.

AAA of Michigan this morning is reporting a statewide average of $3.52 per gallon for regular unleaded. This price is 11 cents less than this time last month and $1.55 less than this time last year. The auto club says gas prices have been pretty inconsistent, but the state average has stayed below $3.65 per gallon, thanks in part to the lower cost of crude oil.

As far as the Blue Water Area is concerned, we’re currently seeing an average pump price of $3.43 per gallon coming off the heels of Port Huron’s cruise weekend.
