The U.S. Coast Guard, Great Lakes Division reports it’s calling off a search for a missing Chesterfield Township man whose jet ski capsized last night in Lake St. Clair near Anchor Bay. 21-year-old Jonathan Kloss and 19-year-old Hunter Lentine left on two jet skis from a boat launch at Chesterfield’s Brandenburg Park around 8:45pm. Their watercrafts were soon discovered overturned and unattended not far from the boat launch. Strong westerly winds and frigid temperatures made rescue attempts strenuous for responders but they were able to locate 19-year-old Lentine, whose condition is unknown at this time. The Coast Guard reports that after a total of five hours and 88 square miles, they were not able to locate 21-year-old Jonathan Kloss. Multiple agencies assisted in the overnight search including the Chesterfield Township Police and Fire Departments, Ira Township and Algonac Marine Rescue divisions, Boarder Patrol, and Michigan State Police.
