We’re learning more this morning about a fatal motorcycle crash in Lapeer County’s Rich Township. It happened Saturday afternoon around 2:30 at the intersection of Barnes and Silverwood Road in North Branch in Lapeer County’s Rich Township. A group of three riders, including a 61-year-old Flint man in the lead position, and 75-year-old Carl Rhinebolt, also from Flint, were proceeding through the intersection when a vehicle allegedly ran a stop sign as the bikes were passing by. The riders attempted to avoid a collision, lost control and two of the three bikes went down on the roadway. 75-year-old Rhinebolt was transported to an area hospital were he later succumb to his injuries. Authorities report was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
