A West Virginia man is set to appear before a St. Clair County judge this morning on charges relating to the attempted trafficking of methamphetamine. 27-year-old, Curtis Lampkins was taken into custody May 6th without incident during a sting carried out by members of the St. Clair County Drug Task Force, Homeland Security, and Boarder Patrol K-9 units. Authorities seized an undisclosed amount of cash, packaging materials, and nearly six hundred grams of meth that carries an estimated street value of $50,000. Lampkins is facing a possible double sentence for second offense drug possession, along with another potential 20 years for using a computer in committing a crime. Lampkins is currently being housed at the St. Clair County Jail on a $150,000 bond.
