The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a crash that left a 17-year-old Richmond teenager with serious injuries. It happened just before 10:30 Saturday night at the intersection of Gratiot and Division in Casco Township. Deputies say the teen was headed east on Division when she failed to yield and was struck by a pickup truck driven by a 32-year-old woman from Lenox Township. The teen was extricated from her vehicle and was taken to a local hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. The truck’s driver, along with a 39-year-old man and a 2-year-old girl also in the vehicle, were uninjured and evaluated by EMS at the scene. The crash remains under investigation, but deputies say alcohol, drugs, and speed do not appear to be factors.
