Students from the St. Clair County Technical Education Center earned 31 first-place finishes during the local SkillsUSA competition held Saturday, December 13, in Marysville.
Approximately 130 students competed across 31 career and technical events. Medalists finishing in the top three in each category will advance to regional competition in February.
CTE Director and Principal, Lesley Murphy said about the students, “The competition gives them the opportunity to showcase the career-ready skills they have been developing in their programs, and I’m proud of how they represented themselves, their home schools, and St. Clair TEC.”
More than 30 volunteers served as judges, evaluating student performance and providing detailed feedback to help students continue developing their technical skills.
