Neighbors with the Sherman Woods Homeowners Association in Port Huron are celebrating a successful 2025 Red Kettle Campaign, raising more than seven thousand dollars for the Port Huron Salvation Army.
Organizers say holiday bell ringing collected $7,069, a 17% increase over 2024. The latest effort brings the neighborhood’s ten year fundraising total to $55,397.
Funds were raised by volunteer residents who managed a Red Kettle drop off on weekend evenings throughout the Christmas season, along with an additional night of bell ringing on Christmas Eve.
Donations came from visitors attending Sherman Woods’ popular annual holiday light displays. The 2025 season also featured special decorations recognizing the neighborhood’s 100th anniversary.
In addition to bell ringing, attractions such as the Sherman Woods Chorus, visits from Santa Claus and the Grinch, and horse drawn carriage rides added to the holiday atmosphere.
Organizers say the funds help the Salvation Army provide holiday meals and gifts for local families in need.
