In one of the most bizarre episodes of Catfish ever, one man truly believed he was in an online relationship with Katy Perry.Yep, that Katy Perry–despite the chart-topping pop star having married Russell Brand, dating several other celebrities, and currently being with Orlando Bloom during their time together. Spencer Morrill of Tennessee got in touch with Nev Schulman and Max Joseph from Catfish just to double check that it’s really her. Obviously, they’ve never met face-to-face and he’d spoken to her on the phone once – which incidentally resulted in a $270 phone bill. But they’ve been texting and emailing A LOT. The episode sees Spencer completely convinced that he is in a relationship with Katy – even letting the hosts know that she’s sent him some unreleased songs… via YouTube (PUBLIC) links. Of course, Spencer’s hopes and dreams were shattered when Nev and Max traced Katy’s number and email address to a gay woman named Harriet from Gloucester, England. When they caught up with her, they discovered she had no interest in men and she reportedly wasn’t fazed by her behavior being uncovered. Spencer got a free trip to England, so…silver lining?
The Final Five womens’ gymnastics team has finally experienced the rest and relaxation they so deserve after bringing home a whopping eight medals for Team USA. With the 2016 Rio Olympics almost behind them, Simone Biles, Aly Raisman and Madison Kocian decided to celebrate their incredible victories in the gym with a day soaking up the Brazilian sun.
