A much more handsome version of me eating while running late.
You’re starving. You have a million things to do today and you’re already running behind (Doesn’t matter what the things are or why you’re late; this is a scenario with which most people are familiar.). You have, like, negative 20 minutes for lunch. To save time, you hit up Generic Fast Food Joint. It’s not the healthiest option and maybe you’ll regret it later, but you’re on a time crunch and it’s cheap and easy. Maybe you’ll even feel guilty admitting it, but it can taste pretty good to boot. There are a lot of people out there who want to eat better, but balancing a diet and life can get tricky. Why isn’t there a healthy and affordable fast food option? Well, Roushan Christofellis is looking to solve that problem with Salad and Go.

Salad and Go provides a healthy option for your fast-paced life.
The co-founder of the Arizona business venture first opened the doors back in 2013 because she knows all too well that it’s virtually impossible to find something to eat that fits into all the categories of good, quick, healthy, and convenient. Generic Fast Food Joint has 3 for the 4 nailed down, and might offer a token salad or two as their healthy option. But Salad and Go sells filling 48 oz. salads starting at just $5.47! $2.50 more will get you chicken, shrimp, or steak with your order. Soups, smoothies, and breakfast are also available, all of which cost about $4 a pop.

Roushan says that since there is no interior seating at the 6 locations that the business can keep their prices relatively low. Salad and Go sources its ingredients from local farmers in bulk, which also helps with the cost. Two more locations are set to open by the end of 2017, and Roushan hopes to open more locations around the US within two years.
